Game News: Assassin’s Creed 3 Features Personalised Base – And Mentor Called ‘Achilles’

Fresh details about Assassin’s Creed 3’s campaign have emerged, with the revelation that the Revolutionary War-set epic will feature a personalised base known as the ‘Homestead’ and a veteran assassin mentor named Achilles.

In a new preview now online at Eurogamer, associate producer Julien Laferrière explains that the Homestead is “our take on the American Dream”, and that it allows you to “build your own town”. You can recruit people to help you construct and maintain said settlement, with these NPCs offering their skills as lumberjacks and builders and ultimately rewarding you with side-quests and stories.

The Homestead will also play host to your mentor for the game, Achilles, who is a master assassin of British and Caribbean descent determined to aid protagonist Connor in his training and endeavours.

“He’s not your Leonardo da Vinci,” Laferrière added, suggesting that Achilles will play quite a different role from Ezio’s inventor buddy. It is also implied that Achilles will play an important part in certain quests.
