Game News: Assassin’s Creed Series To End After Just One Or Two More Games?

The sheer volume of Assassin’s Creed titles in recent times has divided gamers – with some fans of the hugely-popular series hungry for more, and others claiming that it’s simply too much of a good thing.

But now – with Assassin’s Creed 3 just around the corner – it has been claimed that there may not be many installments left.

In an Ask Me Anything session over at Reddit, an individual claiming to be a Lead Developer at Ubisoft Montreal (supplying a photo as ‘proof’, as Reddit rules dictate), has said that it is likely there will be only one or two more Assassin’s Creed games.

“In all honestly the incoming game is going to determine whether we continue making the Assassins Creed Games,” he wrote. “But due to multiple field tests we can concur that we will probably have 1 to 2 more Assassins Creed games.”

Assassin’s Creed 3 hits stores for PS3 and Xbox360 in late October, and PC and Wii U in November. Ubisoft have recently stated that the direction of any sequels will depend on fan reaction to new protagonist Connor.
