Gaming News: Nintendo’s 3DS Press Conference
This Monday September 12th, Nintendo will hold a conference revealing more details on what it has in store for its new handheld, the Nintendo 3DS. After a disappointing launch and a lack of a system-selling game, Nintendo has given the portable’s grim outlook a brighter future with a massive price drop that normally consumers don’t see until years into a device’s lifecycle.
There’s been the recent news of a possible connection with the Wii’s version of Dragon Quest X, then an awkward turn with the unveiling of that bulky, second circle pad add-on in the Japanese magazine, Famitsu. Nintendo has generally done well with their line of add-ons; the Rumble Pak revolutionized gaming itself. Maybe this add-on will be just for current 3DS owners, and Nintendo will introduce a redesigned system with the extra circle pad built in.
As for newer games, there are rumors of a new Yoshi platformer and a possible resurrection of the Gamecube RPG, Baten Kaitos. Newer editions of Fire Emblem, Contra and Castlevania have also been thrown into the rumor mill. Are these rumors true? Will Nintendo have something hidden up its sleeve? Most likely, but stayed tuned to FMV for all the details of Monday’s conference.
