Gaming News: Skyrim Voice Cast Announced

Bethesda have today announced the voice-over cast of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which includes a number of Academy Award-nominated heavyweights.

Christopher Plummer (12 Monkeys) takes on the role of Greybeard elder Arngeir, while Max Von Sydow (The Exorcist) stars as Blades agent Esbern and Joan Allen (The Bourne Supremacy) makes her video game debut as the warrior Delphine.

The wider cast also includes video game veterans such as sci-fi legend and Mass Effect 2/Fallout: New Vegas actor Michael Hogan – he of Battlestar Gallactica fame.

Oblivion may have had Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart, but  it looks like Skyrim will be equally impressive in the voice-acting stakes.

“It’s been incredible to have all these actors together,” said Todd Howard, Game Director. “When you start a project, you always make your wish-list of actors, and to actually hear them in the game, it’s amazing. We can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released worldwide on November 11th.

It appears a lot more big names are coming into video games for voice roles of late (Danny Wallace in Assassins Creed, Seth McFarlane in Mass Effect & Stephan Merchant in Portal).
