Microsoft has announced the first download pack for Gears of War 3, which since launch has sold 3 million copies worldwide. Arriving on Xbox Live on November 1 is The Horde Command Pack, which will include three new maps, three playable characters, new fortification upgrades, two weapon skins and an additional 250 gamerscore.

Leading the three maps is Blood Drive, which is set in the Jacinto Medical Plaza, an evacuated area that went from a safety zone to a “dangerous inferno”, while the other two maps are Rustlung (set on a decommisioned battleship) and Azura, which places gamers on an island resort which has seen better days, a la Dead Island.

Three new playable characters included in the Horde Command Pack are Onyx Guard, Big Rig Dizzy and Bernie. The new fortification upgrades included in the DLC pack are advancements to Decoy, Sentry and Silverback fortifications. Finally, the weapon skins available to those who purchase the new content will be Team Plasma and Jungle Camo.

This new pack will be the first of four DLC packs to be released for Gears of War 3, and players can purchase the Gears of War 3 Season Pass today to take advantage of a great deal. The Season Pass is 2,400 MS points and will include all the map packs released for Gears of War 3. If purchased individually, each pack would end up costing players 3,600 MS points.
