Music News: Stone Roses Announce Reunion

After weeks of rumours and speculation, the members of iconic Manchester rock band The Stone Roses have finally revealed that they are indeed reforming for a series of live shows – with new songs also apparently in the works.

The quartet of Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni have all enjoyed varying success with their music projects since the band broke-up in 1996, with Brown forging a successful solo career and Mani becoming a key member of Primal Scream.

Fans of the group, who caused a stir with hits such as Waterfall, I Wanna Be Adored and Fools Gold in the late ’80s and early ’90s, seem to be split on whether the reunion is a good thing, with some vividly excited about the prospect and others arguing that it will be impossible to re-capture the Madchester heyday.
