As back-breaking Bane, a passionate Heathcliff and the infamous Charles Bronson, Tom Hardy is used to playing iconic and notorious characters so it should come as no surprise that another huge role is coming his way, this time in the form of Al Capone.

The project, called Cicero, has David Yates working alongside Warner Bros. Hardy, however has started his research by going deep into the studio vaults and watching the Depression era- set gangster films featuring legendary actors such as James Cagney and Humphrey Bogart.

The idea of a trilogy has cropped up but nothing has yet been set in stone. That is probably due to the schedule of both Yates and Hardy.

After This Means War and The Dark Knight Rises, Hardy can be seen Wettest County before he starts work on the Mad Max reboot/remake whilst Yates will be working on various projects including bringing Doctor Who to the big screen.
