Today at Gamescom, Sony announced that the PlayStation 3 will now retail for $249.99, £249.99, €249.99 and ¥24,980 and this price cut is effective immediately. The PS3 previously sold for $299.99. So for anyone out there who is still on the fence, Sony is clearly aiming to give you a major incentive to buy one now.

Sony also announced a price cut for the 320GB PS3 unit from $349 to $299. A limited edition inFamous 2 bundle was announced for North America that includes a 320GB PS3, a copy of inFamous 2 and a 30-day membership to PlayStation Plus. No word yet if other regions will be receiving the inFamous 2 bundle.
