Game News: Rayman Legends Trailer Leaked
This confirms that Ubisoft are indeed working on a new title entitled ‘Rayman Legends’, and the trailer features gameplay similar to Rayman Origins, including the beautiful environments and fast-paced platforming that made the game a critical and commercial success.
The trailer does reveal some new features absent in Origins, however, including online functionality along with ‘social gaming’; a new feature that appears to allow players to challenge online opponents to complete certain tasks by offering them rewards in the form of ‘Rubis’ (some sort of in-game currency). Racing against ghost players, something that was missing from the console release of Origins but present in the Vita version, has also been revealed for the new title.
Perhaps the most exciting thing about this new trailer is that it shows off some previously unannounced capabilities that the Wii U has. The new trailer reveals the ability to place physical objects onto the Wii U tablet controller in order to affect the game – a similar feature to the one utilised in Skylanders Spyro Adventures. The objects featured in the trailer include an Ezio Auditore from Assassins Creed and a ‘Raving Rabid’. Intrigued? You should be.
While Ubisoft are yet to make any official comment thus far, this new trailer does confirm the publisher’s faith and support in Nintendo’s new console, which is due to hit stores at the end of this year.
