Electronic music legends the Pet Shop Boys have announced that their new album Elysium will be released on September 17th.

Featuring 12 songs showing off a “warm, deep electronic sound”, the record – their 11th in an illustrious career spanning more than 25 years – was recorded in Los Angeles earlier this year with producer Andrew Dawson, who has won three Grammy awards for his work with Kanye West.

“We wanted to make this album in a different environment,”explained vocalist Neil Tennant. “Despite frequent visits there we have never made an album in Los Angeles. Working there with Andrew Dawson has enabled us to make a very fresh-sounding album.”

The first single, Winner, is out on August 6th.
